(Santa Barbara, United States, October 25, 1984) is the stage name of Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson is a singer and songwriter, who rose to fame in 2007 with her internet hit "Ur So Gay", and later, in 2008 and 2009, with their hit singles "I Kissed a Girl" and "Hot N Cold".
Hudson was born and raised in Santa Barbara.
His parents are Christian pastors and grew up listening only to gospel music.
After earning a GED during her first year of high school, he began a musical career.
Katy Hudson released a self-titled album in 2001. In 2004, he recorded an album with production team The Matrix, but it was never released.
After signing with Capitol Music Group in 2007, took the stage name Katy Perry and released her second album, One of the Boys.
Katy Perry was born as Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson in Santa Barbara, California.
He was the second child of two pastors, has an older sister and a younger brother. Her Evangelical mother, Mary Hudson, grew up in Southern California and had "a tempestuous first marriage in Zimbabwe".
His father was an artist from the West Coast in the 1960s.
